POD - Point of Dispensing Messaging
In today’s busy retail pharmacy setting, patients may only occasionally receive relevant messaging and information
regarding their prescription therapy. The traditional drug monograph or patient leaflet usually supplies generalized drug
product information with little or no patient specific information. The solution is to provide printed brand-specific
educational materials to patients at the point when a prescription is dispensed.

POD - Point of Dispensing technology analyzes each prescription event or dispensing based on your specific program criteria.
- The criteria may include gender, age, NDC, market participation, geographic demographics, and compliance or persistence variables.
- Printed material may be distributed for educational, product knowledge, drug availability or market analysis purposes.
- POD may also be configured to produce mailable printed material directly from the participating pharmacy’s practice management system.
The patient messaging output is letter-sized, one or more plain paper pages that print on your laser printer immediately following your label. The content encourages your patients to become more compliant with their therapy and/or makes them aware of clinically appropriate concomitant or alternative products. Patient messages only print when there is an appropriate message available.
