Adherence and Compliance Programs
What it is
FDS' patient education programs are designed to educate and empower your patients.
Adheris’ direct-to-patient programs have shown that patients are more likely to
stay on therapy when they understand:
- Why medication has been prescribed for them
- How the medication should be taken
- How long they should remain on therapy
- What to expect (i.e., side effects, onset of action, etc.) while they are on therapy
How it works
There are no new steps or tasks required of your pharmacy staff. All phases of each
program are handled directly by the team of FDS, Inc. and Adheris, Inc. FDS provides
a simple HIPAA compliant data feed to Adheris on your behalf.
- Prescription records from the pharmacies are processed and trigger a series of interventions
based on program design and logical instructions derived from the patient therapy
experience.
- Interventions are printed and mailed to the patients.
- Patients' communications arrive at their own homes directly from their own local
pharmacist.
For each of the drugs available in the program, up to six letters will be sent out
per year per patient. An easy to navigate web site for patients to opt out of the
program is made available by Adheris.
Expected result
Participating pharmacies receive rebates each time a refill reminder or informational
or educational letter about a compliance program-eligible drug is sent to one of
their patients. These programs pay the pharmacy for each letter, up to six letters
per year per program, sent to each patient to whom the pharmacy dispenses these
drugs.
